Florida Eye Clinic conducts free general screening for glaucoma Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8AM to 10AM.

To date, hundreds of patients have been screened. Patients who are deemed to have or are suspicious of having glaucoma undergo counseling, further investigations and treatment when warranted.

The clinic conducts free general eye disease screenings on a regular basis with organizations like the Catholic Church and NGO’s like the Rotary Club.

Patients are treated using eyedrops, glasses or surgery In addition, public awareness programs are conducted about the care of eyes, the importance of eye checkup and consequence of eye diseases if not treated early.

As a part of its social service activities aimed at serving the underprivileged, Florida Eye Clinic participates in eye camps. These camps are aimed at preventing avoidable blindness caused due to cataract.

Cataract, affecting the vision of the aged, makes them dependent. A simple operation, giving them back their vision also restores to them their independence and dignity.

Florida Eye Clinic have agreement with several schools to offer technical support for screening of school age children. Amblyopia, also known as lazy eye, is a vision development disorder in which an eye fails to achieve normal visual acuity, even with prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses. Because amblyopia typically is a problem of infant vision development, symptoms of the condition in school age students can be difficult to discern.

Amblyopia begins during infancy and early childhood. In most cases, only one eye is affected. But in some cases, reduced visual acuity can occur in both eyes. If the affected eye is detected early in life and promptly treated, reduced vision can be avoided. But if left untreated, lazy eye can cause severe visual disability in the affected eye, including legal blindness.

Retainership and memorandum of understanding is made with corporate entities and organizations so that their employees and family members have access to the world class advanced facilities available at Florida Eye Clinic.
